### AFJROTC Trip (November 2019)

November 15-16, 2019

Friday--Texas Military Forces Museum (Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas), Austin Capital Tour with Texas Deputy Secretary of State and USMC Veteran, the Honorable Joe Esparza
We set a record with the largest number of visitors in the Texas State Department at one time: 53 Cadets plus instructors

Saturday--NASA's Johnson Space Center (Houston) and the San Jacinto Monument (Birthplace of the Republic of Texas)

Fifty-three Cadets departed with their instructors/chaperones prior to 0600 on Friday morning and had a full day in Austin, a night-over in Houston and a full day in and around the Houston area prior to getting back to WHHS a little before 11:00 Saturday night.

It was an extremely fast-paced trip and yet, rewarding learning experience for our future leaders!

Excuse that final picture- but somewhere behind those garbage cans that are behind Dulce and Aislinn… and beyond that tree-line is where El Generalissimo Santa Anna lost Texas in April of 1836.
