Step 2: Enter Six Weeks Grades

Enter as much info as you have so far about report card grades for each six weeks. If you don't know, leave it blank and we'll calculate using what you enter. You can also experiment with grades you think you will make, even if they haven't happened yet.

Step 3: Final Exam and Semester Grades

Based on this information, going into the final exam your average is a(n) 0. (Found by averaging however many grades you entered in Step 2)

To earn a C (70) this semester, you need to make a(n) 0 on the final exam.

To earn a B (80) this semester, you need to make a(n) 0 on the final exam.

To earn an A (90) this semester, you need to make a(n) 0 on the final exam.

Semester Exams

All high school students are required to take a semester examination and/or complete a culminating activity in each course. The grade on the semester exam or culminating activity is worth 1/7 of the semester grade.

Middle school students enrolled in high school courses, except World Language courses, will be required to take a semester exam or complete a culminating activity. The semester exam or culminating activity will be worth 1/7 of the semester grade.

Determining Semester Grades

The grade the student receives on the semester examination or culminating activity will be used to determine the semester grade for the course. The semester grade for students with six reporting periods will be calculated as follows:

FOCUS will automatically calculate the semester grade based on the grades entered for each six-weeks and the semester exam or culminating activity grade.
