Jason Green, Ma'Javion Washington and Kyree Wilson competed in the regional track meet this past Friday and Saturday in Lubbock, Texas. Each of these young men competed at a high level and represented Western Hills HS well.
Jason competed in the triple jump and out of 16 contestants finished 8th overall.
Kyree competed in the 300-meter hurdles and out of 16 contestants finished 7th overall running a personal best 41.11. (Lane 1) Kyree Wilson's personal best in the 300-meter hurdles at the regional meet is a new Western Hills HS school record. He also set a new school record in the 110-meter hurdles this season with a time of 15.81.

Your Western Hills Cougars competed in the 7-4A/8-4A Area Track and Field Championships in Springtown, TX. Each young man competed at a high level setting several personal records. Jason Green, Ma'Javion Washington, and Kyree Wilson qualified to compete in the Region 1 Regional track meet in Lubbock, TX next week.

300-meter hurdles - Kyree Wilson 3rd place setting a personal record with a time of 42.63 sec.

4 x 400-meter relay - (Keyon Butler, Aaron Martin, Corey Williams, and Javares Hamilton) 7th place improving their time by 4 seconds.
The boys track team competed in the District 8-4A Track and Field Championship this past Wednesday and Thursday. The Varsity boys were runner ups in the team standings scoring 122 points. The Junior Varsity boys were District Champions in the team standings scoring 161 points.

The next track meet is the District 8-4A Track and Field Championships March 31st and April 1st at Clark Stadium.
On Thursday March 11th, the boys track team competed in the South Hills Scorpion Relays. Several young men set personal records.
- Kenton Johnson set personal records in both the Shot Put and Discus. He increased his Shot-Put distance by 6 feet and his Discus distance by 10 feet.
- Caleb Clark set a personal record in the Discus increasing his distance by 1 foot.
- K'heaven Johnson increased his Shot-Put distance by 4 feet.
- Corey Williams improved his 400-meter time by 5 seconds.
- Benjamin Prince improved his 800-meter time by 6 seconds.
- Logan Wagner had the biggest gain by improving his 1600-meter run time by 18 seconds.
- The team of Aaron Martin, Eric Griffin, Jason Green, and Kemarris Mayes took 3rd place in the 4 x 200-meter relay improving their time by 2 seconds.
- Ma'javion Washington took second place in the long jump.
Our next track meet is Thursday March 18th at Clark Stadium. The field events start at 10:00 am and the running events start at 12:00 noon.
