Last week we had four of our players compete at the regional championships. Our players played well but fell short of advancing. It was a great experience, and we had a lot of fun! Thanks for your support.

Last Thursday (3/31/2022), our Junior Varsity Tennis players competed in their district tournament.

Jose Mendieta and Johnathan Ramirez won gold medals in the boys' doubles. Erick Perez won silver in singles. Kevin Jimenez and Emilia Carrillo won silver in mixed doubles. Leonel Munoz won bronze in singles. Elaina Montalvo and Maddison Allen won bronze in the girls' doubles. It looks like our cougar tennis team has a promising future ahead, and they have the hardware to show for it!

Last Friday (4/1/2022), our Varsity Tennis competed in their district tournament. Jainel Patel, Jorge Urbina, Alejandra Mares, and Roy Castellanos will be advancing to regionals.

These players will be playing in Lubbock next week, home of the Texas Tech Red Raiders! Thanks to the hard work of our players, I'll be visiting my Alma Mater!

Jorge and Jaineel are now two-time District Champs, and Alejandra and Roy were able to advance after coming back in their match to win in a tiebreaker set.

All our players performed at a high level last Friday, and many of them were able to take home some medals. I am very proud of our team. Thank you for all the support.

The cougar tennis team endured another hard-fought tournament yesterday with most of our players playing 4 matches.

Jaineel Patel received a Silver medal yesterday in males singles. Roy Castellanos and Alejandra Mares were able to win 3 out of 4 of their matches to earn bronze. Lastly, Eric Perez earned a bronze medal in boys singles.

I would also like to voice how proud I am of the accomplishments of our players inside and outside of the court. I am very proud of Roy Castellanos for receiving his appointment to the U.S Air Force Academy! Roy has always followed the Air Force motto of "Aim High" which has helped him be successful in all his endeavors. Roy has been in contact with the Air Force tennis coaches and will be helping them as a student assistant. Thank you for all your continued support that has allowed our team to flourish this season.

Yesterday we faced off against larger schools and still had many victories. Our team held one of the highest medals counts of the day! It was an awesome experience for our players to be able to play on Collegiate level courts, the TCU Facility was very beautiful, and our players were able to fit right in. The Image below shows everyone who was able to medal yesterday, great job cougars!
